We are sad to announce that on October 22, 2021, at the age of 100, Myrtle Rose Godwin of Smithfield, North Carolina passed away. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Capps and Mary Price Capps; her husband William V. Godwin; and her stepson Wayne Godwin. She is survived by: her children, David Rose (Annette) of Smithfield, Ray Rose (LaVerne) of Princeton, Edna Bernheisel (Albert) of Pine Level, Sue Byrd of Smithfield, Debbie Johnson (Chuck) of Surf City and Pat Baine of Pine Level; and her stepdaughter Sharon Askew of Pikeville. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren.
