It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Von Jernigan (Smithfield, North Carolina), who passed away on November 28, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Myrtle Irene Jernigan; his wife Linda Massengill Jernigan; his grandson Richard Conklin; and his brothers, Joseph Carol Jernigan, Owen Glenwood Jernigan, John Martin Jernigan and Jesse Calvin Jernigan.
He is survived by: his son Tony Jernigan (Susan) of Selma; his grandchildren, James Jernigan (Taylor), Anthony Jernigan, Victoria Johnson (Burke) and Julia Turnage (Chris); his great grandchildren, Caroline Johnson, Preston Johnson and Charlotte Johnson; and his siblings, Willa Dean Nichols of Micro, Linda Ruth Toole of Micro, Dale Johnson (Bruce) of Clayton, Jimmy Jernigan of Micro, Eddie Jernigan (Rose) of Texas and Danny Brown (Jennifer) of Pennsylvania.
