He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley Luke and Mary Lena Millis Shepard; his son Nicholas Anderson Shepard; and his brother Riley Luke "R. L.". He is survived by: his wife Barbara "B. J."; his daughter Brooke Shepard (Wayne Hintergardt) of Oregon; his stepchildren, Melissa Wrench (Clark) of Dunn and Xan Irvin (Haley) of Saraland, AL; his siblings, Carl Edward Shepard (Martha) of Sneads Ferry and Mary Ann Callans (Jim) of Sneads Ferry; and his nieces and nephews, Farron Shepard (Sandy) of Sneads Ferry, Duane Shepard of Sneads Ferry, Tracie Morris (Randy) of Florida and Allison Tutherow (Brian) of Verona.
