She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Bouchoux and Josephine LaPointe. She is survived by: her husband Paul Higgins; her son Dennis; her siblings, Carol Yost, Elaine Kimball (Susan) and Donald Bouchoux; and her grandsons, Ian and Collin Higgins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In recognition of her contributions to the industry, Jean was inducted into the Washington Design Center Designer Hall of Fame in 2005.
