She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Phillips and Roberta Garner Phillips; her husband Charles Monroe; her daughter Pam; and her siblings, Archie Phillips, Jr., Bradley Phillips, Wayne Phillips and Betty Ann Willard.
She is survived by: her children, Charlie Monroe (Maureen Frazer Monroe) and Cindy Monroe Muse (Spencer Muse) of Durham; and her sisters, Ella Morton and Aileen Gooden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews and great-grandnieces/nephews.
As part of her celebration, flowers are welcomed, however in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
