He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Edmund Taggart and Winifred Mellon O'Donnell Taggart. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Gardner Taggart; his daughters, Shannon Adams (Gatlin) of Bolivia, NC, Sylvia Taggart, Madalynn Wolter (Jason) of Pflugerville, TX and Brittany Taggart (Marcus Lithman) of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Cosette Taggart, Bryson, Triston Adams, Brynley, Atlas Wolter and Dillon Lithman; his son John Allen; and his siblings, May Smyth (FL), Winifred Lauer (CA) and Andrew Taggart (MT). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5269 Dosher Cutoff SE, Southport, NC 28461).
