He was predeceased by: his brother Bruce Odus Johnson. He is survived by: his spouse Imogene Medley Johnson; his siblings, Mack Johnson (Treva) of Ennice, Eva Sue Crouse of Ennice, Gnell Carpenter of Rockwell and Lorene Brooks of Ennice; and his niece Betty Jo Long. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
