He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Jessie and Bessie Ruth Wooten Maines; his siblings, David Parlan Smith and Dianne Pamela Witherspoon; and his great-niece Emily Danielle Evans.
He is survived by: his nieces, Amanda Jones of Sparta and Connie Evans of Sparta; his great-nieces, Makenna Jones and Gracie Jones; his great-nephew David Hall; and also Sophia Elizabeth Guerrero.
