We are sad to announce that on May 25, 2018, at the age of 91, Gene Brooks (Sparta, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Zelda Caudill Brooks; and his siblings, Vivian Brooks Holloway, Lester Brooks, Lawrence Brooks, Neil Brooks, Ward Brooks and Clyde "Katy" Brooks Wade.
He is survived by: his daughter Rita Hall; his brother Ed Hall of Sparta; his son Stephen E. Brooks (Paula) of Sparta; his grandchildren, Tyra Hall Berrier (Barry) of Mt, Billy Hall (Jen) of Raleigh, Jeannie Roupe (Freddy) of Taylorsville and Sammy Brooks (Lois) of Morehead City; his great grandchildren, Vivienne Hall, Blythe Hall, Brooks Hall, Wesley Gray Hall, Reagan Berrier, Jaye Berrier, Gavin Roupe, Tess Roupe and Rylee Brooks; his sister-in-law Weda Brooks of Colorado; his brother Hugh Miller; Reverend Allen. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
