He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clyde and Vetra Norman Gillespie; and his daughter Vickie Lynn Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Gillespie; his daughters, Jill Radding (Peter) of Wake Forest and Jennifer Waldorf (Robert) of Deep Gap; his grandchildren, Trent Radding, Grant Radding and Gretchen Waldorf; and his uncle Bobby Gillespie (Joyce) of Ennice.
