He is survived by: his wife Rachel Edwards; his children, Glenn Edwards (Marlene) of Woodlawn, VA, Ruby Edwards Johnson (Carey) of Bahama and Susan Edwards (Steven Bunn) of Galax, VA; his grandchildren, Sally Ann Edwards, Reece Edwards, Mary Margaret Johnson and William Johnson; and his sister Betty Edwards Hayes (Harold) of Sparta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
