He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston R. Cox and Opal Fields Cox. He is survived by: his wife Norma Cox; his children, Elizabeth Renee Fields of Albany, NY, Michelle Renta (Robert) of Rock Hill, SC and Stephen Cox of Sparta, NC.; his stepchildren, Cheryl Hicks (David) of Mt. Airy, Daryl Reeves (Jena) of Sparta, NC and Derek Reeves (Beth) of Lenoir, NC.; and his sister Nancy Mize. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grandview Funeral Home (789 Grandview Dr, Sparta, NC 28675). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
