She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Matney and Ila Hash Matney; her husband Reverend Avery Slone; her daughter Linda Gail Slone; her grandson Dillon Slone; and her siblings, Marie Matney Houseman, J. C. Matney, Bill Matney and Danny Matney.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Ray Slone, Patricia Slone and Vicki Slone (Danny); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jerry, Josh, Alex, Alyhia and Michael; her great grandchildren, Avery, Flora, Barron, Roland, Ivy, Lexy, Zachary, Hailey, Adam, Izabella, Bryson and Kayden; and her siblings, Joan Lambert, Katy Clanton, Richard Matney and Rex "Butch" Matney.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Nicholson Funeral Home (135 E Front St, Statesville, NC 28677). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
