With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Pope Sigmon of Statesville, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Olen Ray Pope and Janie Mae Stewart Pope; her husband James Ray Sigmon; her son Tony Alton Sigmon; her siblings, Brice Eugene Pope (Gaye), Hubert Leo Pope (Allien Mayhew Pope), Elgie Pope Whitaker and Dorothy Grisanti; and her siblings-in-law, Ruth Sigmon Morrow, Lois Sigmon Sharpe and Billy Roy Sigmon.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry James Sigmon (Sandey Thompson Sigmon) of Thurmond, Philip Scott Sigmon (Nancy Sherrill Sigmon) of Catawba, Wayne Olin Sigmon of Statesville and Patrick Sigmon of Statesville; her siblings, Fairley Pope of Alexander Co, Loretta Pope Hedrick of Claremont, Zula Pope Bolick of Claremont, Eunice Sherill of Lincolnton and Betty Hewitt of Hickory; her grandchildren, Cody James Sigmon, Emily Grace Sigmon, Kaylyn Sigmon, Angela Sigmon Lancaster and Laura Sigmon Arney; her great grandchildren, Brandon Lee Lancaster and Malia Lancaster; and her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Pope, Elaine Sigmon Johnson and Jeanie Sigmon Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (158 Stony Point School Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
