She was predeceased by: her parents, Milford James Smith and Ada Mae Quinn Smith. She is survived by: her husband Joseph DeVance Ponder Jr.; her daughter Sherry Murph (Jim); her stepgrandchildren, Tommy Murph (Carrie), Sharon Williams (Lance) and Ken Murph (Tara Nobles); and her niece Diane Brown.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rocky Hill Baptist Church (823 Mountain View Rd, Statesville, NC 28625).
