It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lessie Hopkins Naves of Swannanoa, North Carolina, born in Odum, Georgia, who passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Clyde Yarbrough and Audia Poindexter Yarbrough; her former life partner William Wesley Hopkins; her husband James Naves; her son Ronald Allen Hopkins; and her siblings, Albert Yarbrough, W. T. Yarbrough, Eugene "Gene" Yarbrough, Evelyn Reddish, Lola Phillips and Betty Edenfield.

She is survived by : her sons, Wayne Hopkins (Linda) of Wrightsboro, GA, Danny Hopkins (Mary) of Black Mountain and Bill Hopkins (Judy) of Duncan, SC; her stepdaughters, Debbie Hughes (Roger) of Corpus Christi, TX and Carol Watson (Dennis) of Black Mountain; and her siblings, Myrtice McLeighton of Jesup, GA, Ruby Elliott of Jesup, GA, Gerry Cooksey (Bill) of Jesup, GA and Lonnie Yarbrough (Beth) of Palatka, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
