He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Howard Matthews; his wife Alice; his children, Angie Renegar (Roger) of Swansboro and Allen Matthews of Carolina Beach; his sisters, Linda Jones of Godwin and Ellen Davis (Ray); his sisters-in-law, Linda Lee of Wade and Nora Cain of Stanley; and his pet Stewie.
