She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Bryson and Thelma Dills; the father of her child Kenny Woodard; and her siblings, Roy Bryson, Edith Hicks and Hilda Tolley.
She is survived by: her husband Tim Ellis; her children, Jacob Woodard and Clarissa Crawford; her grandson David Hedderman; and her sisters, Evelyn Broom (Carroll) and Ethel Watson (John).
