He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Tatham and Eula McLean. He is survived by: his wife Patricia G. Tatham; his stepchildren, Richard Caldwell (Jennifer) and Kim Caldwell Gibson (Vaughn); and his grandchildren, Chad Caldwell, Brad Caldwell, Tyler Caldwell (Thersia), Jaderian Ackerman Gibson (Rob) and Wyndsor Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial donations be made in Carroll's memory to: Wesleyanna United Methodist Church Cemetery, 7966 US 441 South, Sylva, NC 28779 or the Salvation Army, PO Box 358, Waynesville, NC 28786.
