He is survived by: his wife Helen Payne Scurlock; his children, David Caesar and Mary Helen Scurlock Hartbarger (James Francis "Buzz); his grandchildren, James Robert, David Christopher, William Gordon and Julia Hartbarger Duvall (Corey); his great grandchild John Bairs; his niece Pamela Austin Chewning (Lee); and his nephew Lyman D. Austin (Elaine). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and several beloved cousins.
