She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Carl Ballew and Ella Mason Ballew; and her husband John D. Brown. She is survived by: her children, Ella Worley of Tuckasegee, Jerry Brown of Asheville, Avery Brown of Green's Creek and Ken Brown of Sylva; and her grandchildren, Gabe Brown, Erica Tingen, Robert Reed, Trevor Brown, Lindsey Reed, Michael Robinson, Larry Brown Gonzalez and John A. Brown. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
