She was predeceased by: her husband James Vernon Painter of Sylva; her son James Vernon Painter; her father William Henry Farrior, Sr.; and her siblings, Ethel Browder, Frances Jones, William Henry Farrior, Jr., Asha Watson, David Farrior and Emily Farrior.
She is survived by: her children, Asha Lojuan Howard (Thomas Wesley Howard) and Allen Farrior Painter (Jill Deese Painter) of Sylva. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
