He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Raymond Otto, Sr. and Sally Ann Green Vance; and his siblings, Rev. Clarence Vance (CO), Claude Vance, Carl Vance, Herbert Vance, Clyde Vance, R. O. Vance, Jr., Winnie V Thompson, Hazel V Blanton, Ethel V Bennett, Betty Jean Vance, Margaret V Dillard and Mary V Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Vance (Cable); his children, Leeunah (Thad Woods) of Waynesville and Ottie David Vance of Sylva; his grandchildren, Heath Woods (Haylee) of Waynesville, NC, Julie Woods Hendricks (Chip) of Waynesville, NC and Stacy Woods of Waynesville, NC; his great grandchildren, Tanner Hendricks, Emma Hendricks, Ty Hendricks, Haiden Woods, Jacob Woods, Heath Thad Woods, Madison Shirley and Mason Shirley; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Vance and Willetta Vance. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
