He is survived by: his parent Mary Williams Sorrells of Sylva; his sister Ila Mae (Leo Franks); his wife Virginia Turbyfill Ward Sorrells; his sons, Jimmy Sorrells (Anne) of Mars Hill and Randy Sorrells (Loretta) of Arden; his grandchildren, Christopher Sorrells, Ethan Sorrells, Dalton Sorrells, Noah Sorrells, Jamie Sorrells and Kate Sorrells; his niece Kay Franks of Sylva; his brother Bobby Sorrells of Sylva; his stepmother Alberta Sorrells; his stepchildren, Melanie Ballard (Bruce) of Asheville and Steve Ward (Debra) of Asheville; his grandchildren, Rachel Metcalfe (Michael), Kyle Ward, Leann Ward, Demetria Henderson (John) and Heath Ballard; and his great grandchildren, Kort Metcalfe and Marshall Metcalfe.
