It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Corbin Monteith (Sylva, North Carolina), who passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Preaulo Corbin and Alda Pressly Corbin; her former husband Frank Van Childers; her husband Richard Monteith; and her brothers, Edmond, Robert and Frank Corbin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Hollis, Freida Jones (Randy), Kathey Quimby (Robert) and Frankie Smith (Ed); her siblings, Phillip, George Corbin, Lorena Beasley, Mary Allen and Donna Houston; and her grandchildren, Jerry Jones, Frank Babb, Jeremy Babb, Amanda Quimby, Tara Bagamary and Sean Thrash. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
