With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Ellen Coward (Sylva, North Carolina), who passed away on September 28, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Hudson Nicholson and Lola Stephens Nicholson; her husband Ray Elbert Coward; and her siblings, Ruth Smith, Naomi Parker, Laura Royal, Gertrude Allen, Manuel and Clyde Nichsolson.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Dillard, Kathy Watkins (Jim) and Stephen Ray Coward of Sylva; her granddaughters, Tammy Bryson and Tanya Branham; her great grandchildren, Parker, Bella, Beatrice, Lilly and Ezra; and her sister Elizabeth Chester.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lower Coward Cemetery Fund in care of Jennifer Blanton, 89 Marker Pine Lane, Whittier, NC 28789.
