He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Akers and Della Watts; and his son Travis Akers. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Johnson Akers; his sons, Craig Johnson (Tammy) and Chris Akers (Crystal); his grandchildren, Kalyn, Josiah, Simon, Drake, Caedmon, Gavin and Sarah Kelly; and his sister Teresa Akers Walls. He is also survived by his three brothers.
