He was predeceased by: his parents, Gudger Buchanan and Viola Buchanan of Green's Creek; and his wife Frankie Brooks Buchanan. He is survived by: his children, Melissa McMahan (Steve), Carl Buchanan (Regina), James Buchanan (Pam) and Martha Thomasson (Pete); his grandchildren, Josh, Chelsea (Evan), Savannah, Cody (Annie), Kayla (Matt), Lyndsay Tyler (Michael), Brianna (Trent) and Jacob (Miffy); and his siblings, Lowell Buchanan, Wanda Brooks, Barbara Ann Cabe, Stella Wike and Audrey Jones.
