He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Kathy Painter of Orange Beach, Alabama and Bo Newsom of Orange Beach, Alabama; his grandson Brady Newsom; his great grandchildren, Serena and Tesla Newsom of Orange Beach, Alabama.; his former wife Martha Strokis of Orange Beach; his siblings, Betty Lloyd Vaughn of Winthrop and Gene Newsom of Sylva; his sister-in-law Jeanette Newsom of Sylva; his parent Buck Newsom; and his stepfather Werner Feld.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Mary's Cemetery Fund.
