He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Toy Johnson and Elverta Johnson; his close friends, Troy Hardee and Lavelle Coleman; his wife Carolyn Johnson; and his siblings, Grady Duncan (Martha) of Chadbourn, Ronnie Johnson (Carolyn) of Lexington, SC, Deanie Boyd of Mebane, NC, Carrie Rising (Jack) of Tabor City, Kenneth Johnson, Arvell Duncan and Dorothy Borino.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
