He was predeceased by: his sisters, Pauline Scott of Tarboro and MaryJane Matthews of Hobgood. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Davenport Whitfield; and his children, Becky Webb of Bethel, Cathy Warren of Robersonville, Connie Mobley of Williamston, Jamie Whitfield of Robersonville and William Ray Whitfield of Ayden.
