He is survived by: his wife Nancy Brown Whitehurst; his children, George, Jr. (Bonnie) and Pam (Alan Johnson); his grandchildren, Sara Whitehurst, Hanna Whitehurst, Hope Whitehurst, Grace Whitehurst and Timmy Whitehurst; his great grandchild Wyatt Whitehurst; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Brown Stalls, Ashby Brown, Jr. (Linda) and Watson Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
