He is survived by: his wife Mary Eleanor Tew Brewer; his sons, Kenny, Layne (Angela) and Steve (Joy); his grandchildren, Jordan, Evan, Layne, Jr., Mary Claire, Kelly, Sophie and His; and his sister Sara Brewer Rouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 605 N. Main St., Tarboro, N. C. 27886.
