He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Douglas Mitchum and Agnes Mitchum; his wife Rita Ann Mitchum; his children, Kathy Lynn Mitchum (Gregory Wayne Owens) of Macclesfield, Petrice Mitchum of Tarboro, Christopher Oswald Mitchum (Linda) and Stephen Douglas Mitchum (Kris); his sisters, Beverly Jackson (Don) and Jakkie Gamble (Deo); his son-in-law Charles Barfield; and his close friend Lem. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for. Memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.
