He was predeceased by: his parents, William Butler Chapman (Sam) and Ora Chapman Chapman; and his aunts and uncles, Dessie Chapman Harrington and Gussie Chapman Rogers. He is survived by: his wife Marie Orren Chapman; his children, Robin Meade (Sam), Guy Chapman (Kellie) and Janel Lingle; and his cousins, James Rogers, Katherine Fox, Bobbie Jean Potts, Joann Kerley, Kay White and Doug Harrington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville (1400 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
