He was predeceased by: his son Micheal Maye; his parents, Dean Maye and Helen Maye; his parents-in-law, Floyd and Mae Pennell; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Pennell and David Pennell.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Pennell Maye; his children, Melissa Mays (Scott) and Andrew Sharpe (Lauren); his grandchildren, Nick Maye, Dakota Honeycutt, Lexie Stewart (Justin) and Caleb Mays; his great grandchildren, Annaleigh Sharpe, Brody and Maggie Stewart; his siblings, Wanda Stafford (David), Kim Wooten (David) and Randy Maye; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Clayborn (Randy) and Sylvia Pennell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Calendar Poplar Springs Baptist Church (4710 All Healing Springs Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at the Calendar Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery (4710 All Healing Springs Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
