He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Rodney Downing and Rosalie Turmelle Downing. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Downing; his children, Ember Rose Downing, Danielle Downing (Chris Gates) and Nathan Downing; his grandchildren, Ava, Carter and Scarlett Gates; and his siblings, Cheryl Downing-Hall, Dennis Downing and Jeffery Downing.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Calendar Crosspoint Church (5860 US-64, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Crosspoint Church (5860 US-64, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
