He was predeceased by: his brothers, Dwight Payne, Woodrow Payne, Stamey Payne, Donnie Payne and Lee Payne; his half-siblings, Jim Payne, Roy Payne and Annie Benfield; his nephew Tyre Payne; and his sister-in-law Rava Nell Wike.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Wike Lackey; his stepchildren, Wanda Pennell (Jerry) and Michael Lackey (Cindy); his sibling's children, Myra Payne and Eugene Payne (Glynda); his brother-in-law James Wike; his friends, Dwayne Tedder and Danny Tedder; Hunter Sherrill.
