He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nelson Carlton and Mary Magdalene Kilby Carlton; and his siblings, Walter Davie "Pete" Carlton, Thomas Ray Carlton, Joe Taylor Carlton, Jeanette Wooten, Betty Clark, Paulene Martin and Irene Watson.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Caldwell Carlton; his son Gregory Howard Carlton (Razalle Denolan Carlton) of Conover; his granddaughter Angela Margaret Carlton of London, England.; and his siblings, James Nelson Carlton, John Bryant Carlton and Ruth Carlton Foster. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church (2889 Old Nc 90 Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
