She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Jones and Jeanette Louise Wingfield; her brothers, Kenneth and Larry Wingfield; and her former husband Wayne Buchanan.
She is survived by: her daughter Robin Knight (Dany); her husband Gray Spillman; her stepdaughter Denene Jackson (Rodney); and her siblings, R. L. and Betty Jo Hill. She is also survived by great-grandchildren; deeply beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; many dear and close friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. C. Green & Sons (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the J. C. Green & Sons Chapel (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360).
The last year of her life was fraught with much suffering, as she struggled with diabetes, cancer, and the unforgiving effects of Alzheimer's disease.
