Thompson, Sr.; his siblings, John Thompson (Mary Lynn), Vonda Hoover (Kevin) and Tonia McElveen (Jeff); his parents-in-law, Betty Genella (Gil) and Reece Martin (Aline); his siblings-in-law, Patti Crocker and Paul Wesley Crocker; and his nieces and nephews, Timothy Hoover, Major McElveen, Sarah Hoover, Crockett McElveen, Samantha Thompson, Maverick McElveen, Addison Thompson and John Todd Thompson. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
