He is survived by: his wife Christine; his daughter Annette McCarter (Bill) of Shelby; his grandsons, Matthew McCarter (Julie) of Belmont and Mason McCarter of Shelby; his brother Homer Hinson of Troutman; and his sister-in-law Barbara Hinson of Troutman.
