He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Chalita Souber and Providencia Bruzual of Chalita. He is survived by: his wife Carmen Moreno of Chalita; his daughters, Ingrid Chalita and Miriam Chalita-Dorta; his sons-in-law, Luis Dorta and Eduardo Dorta; and his grandchildren, Jose Ignacio D'Alta, Manuela Dorta Chalita, Emilia Dorta-Chalita, Julia Dorta-Chalita and Paula Dorta-Chalita.
A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the St. Therese Catholic Church (217 Brawley School Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117).
