He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Lee and Chattie Mae Speaks Cass; his children, Terri Diane Cass, Karen Lynn Blaes and John Odean Cass, Jr.; the mother of his children Billie Adonna Crownover; and his siblings, Harvey Eugene Cass (Alice), Fred Romas Cass, Steve Rodney Cass, Florene Hauser, Lucille Eller, Mary Marcelene Laws, Judy Karen Tanis and Regina Prevette (Robert).
He is survived by: his daughter Johna Sue Cass of North Wilkesboro; his granddaughters, Amber Lynn Kimpe of Colorado and Brandy Lee Blaes of Colorado; his siblings, Margaret Johnson of Statesville, Billie Ann Weatherman (Jerry) of Statesville, Linda Rebecca Bumgarner of Winston Salem, Gary James Cass (Louise) of East Bend and Marsh Edwin Cass of Wilkesboro; and his niece Tammie Johnson Sherrill of Chesapeake, VA..
