He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Gatlin and Ethel England Gatlin; his son D. Jay Gatlin; and his siblings, Leonard, Matthew, Allen, Curtis, Steve Gatlin, Margaret G. Ipock and Lillie Mae Hearen.
He is survived by : his wife Lue Rhe Jones Gatlin; his son Tony Gatlin (Brenda) of New Bern; his grandchildren, Courtney G. Chenoweth (Zack) of New Bern, Meagan G. Smith (Ryan) of New Bern, Kayla Gatlin of New Bern and Tamara Downing (Simeon) of New Bern; his great grandchildren, Collin, Rylee, Salle Smith, Sullivan and Savannah Chenoweth; his brothers, Miller Gatlin (Joanne) of Raleigh and Ray Gatlin (Patsy) of New Bern; and also, Michael Dixon, Michelle Haddock (Levy), Scott Dixon (Kim), Josh, Caroline Haddock, Faith and Hope Dixon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
