She was predeceased by: her parents, Cassie Chalk White and Sid White; her husband George Wilson Murphy Sr.; her daughter Cathy Murphy Howell; and her grandson Blake Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Judith M. Currin (Tom) of Cary, Rick Wilson Murphy (Martha) of Greensboro, George Wilson Murphy Jr. of New York City and Raleigh; her grandchildren, Murphy Ayala (Bo Taylor), Curt Trogdon (Carla), Connor Murphy (Tiffany) and Liza Brown; her great grandchildren, Georgia, Grayson, Kathryn and Edith; her granddaughter-in-law Bethany Murphy; and her siblings, Eva, Sydney and Owen. She is also survived by her four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
