He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Woodlief and Belle Mitchell Woodlief; and his brother Bennie Woodlief. He is survived by: his stepson John C. Buchanan, Sr. (Sara) of Raleigh; his stepgrandchildren, Tara Buchanan, Brooke Buchanan, Phillip Buchanan and Olivia Buchanan; and his siblings, Terry Horton (Terry) of Wake Forest, Susan Brown of Bunn and Sammy Woodlief of Tacoma, WA.. He is also survived by five step great grandchildren.
