He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Alison Burell; his sons, Garrett and Hunter; his mother Rebecca Burell-Rhodes; his stepfather Michael Rhodes of Wake Forest; his brother Howie Thompson; his sister-in-law Tara Thompson of Chapin; and his father Billie E. Burell of Raleigh. He was also cherished by five nieces, one nephew and many other family and friends.
