He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Marvin and Comie Moody Tharrington; his daughter Elizabeth "Ayre" Tharrington; and his sister Shirley T. Pitchford. He is survived by : his wife Janet Campbell Tharrington; and his stepchildren, Jerry Garrett (Ricky) of Henderson, Jennifer Darnell of Burlington, Michelle Barnes (Chris) of Littleton and John Herndon, Jr. of Macon. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and his special dogs.
