James Luther Greene Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Luther Greene Jr. (Warrenton, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 15, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Shirlie Montague Greene; his children, Diane Greene Brown of Wise, Cynthia Greene of Richmond, Lonnie Greene (Shari) of Wise and Brenda Montague of Wise; his sisters, Sallie Howell of Wise, Maggie Delores Greene of Wise and Barbara Deans (Alfred) of Nashville; his siblings-in-law, Rosetta Palmer (Burroughs) of Clover, Rita Wright (Jacob) of Richmond, Connie Montague of Wise, Dr. Carol Montague-Davis (Garrett) of Winston-Salem, Linda Montague of Bronx, Gloria Montague of Richmond, Virginia, Theodore Montague of Wise and Harold Montague (Altena) of Henderson; and his friends, Leroy Walker and Ronald Walker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the R. H. Greene Funeral Service (109 Front St, Warrenton, NC 27589). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (1258 Cole Farm Rd, Warrenton, NC 27589). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at the Cooks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
